A workshop was held for the youngest visitors of Grayson Perry’s “The Vanity of Small Differences”, which included a tour of the exhibition and an interactively held discussion about the exhibits, with a focus on the production techniques and the artworks that inspired the artist to make his tapestries, the meaning of representation and of subjective interpretation, and the creative and manual work involved in the making of the works.
The aim of the workshop was to awaken children’s curiosity, verbal creativity and critical thinking. The workshop content was based on an educational package specially developed for the needs of this exhibition by the British Council. The workshop was intended for children aged 7 to 14, and the participants were led through Perry’s vivid tapestries by children's writer Jelena Kojović Tepić.
