Museum of Contemporary Art
of Republic of Srpska

 

The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska was the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian museum to join the celebration of the European Night of Museums in 2006, following an invitation by the Ministry of Culture and Communication of the French Republic.

The European Night of Museums is organised under the auspices of the Council of Europe and UNESCО, and it is connected to the International Museum Day (18 May), which was established by ICOM and focuses on a different museum-related topic every year.


 

 

On May 14, 2022, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska will celebrate the seventeenth European Night of the Museums.

 

On Saturday, 18 May 2019, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska marked the fourteenth European Night of Museums. The European Night of Museums is organized under the auspices of the Council of Europe and UNESCO, and is linked to the International Museum Day (18 May), which is established by ICOM and focused each year on a different museum theme.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska celebrated the European Night of Museums for the tenth consecutive time, this year with the financial support of m:tel, under the slogan "m:tel – A Friend of Museums".

The European Night of  Museums, which was scheduled to take place on 17 May, was cancelled due to the emergency situation in the Republic of Srpska caused by devastating flooding.

 

For the eighth consecutive time, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska celebrated the international events of the European Night of Museums and the International Museum Day.

 The event that marked the seventh consecutive celebration of the European Night of Museums by the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska was the exhibition “Microstories – Contemporary Female Art and Its Post-2000 Contexts”, which showed the works of four female artists from Banja Luka (Sаndrа Dukić, Mаrgаretа Kern, Irmа Mаrkulin and Borjаnа Mrđа).
