At the first gathering which was organised for the public, artists Svjetlana Salić Mitrović and Sandra Dukić joined Lana Pilipović, the exhibition’s curator. On this occasion, Lana Pilipović presented the concept of the exhibition to the interested audience and pointed out the differences and similarities related to the art practices of different geographical, social, cultural and economic contexts in which 26 artists who are present at this exhibition live and work.

In a conversation with the artist Svjetlana Salić Mitrović, we presented her creativity and work: ’’I Wish I Were As Busy As a Bee’’, which she created on her mother’s old embroidery by covering its surfaces with wax. Wax in her work carries the symbolic meaning of women’s diligence, maternal warmth and protection, pointing to the intimate content of family memory.

Sandra Dukić, the only artist in the MSURS collecion that has a pronounced feminist attitude and action, interpreted her works ’’Have Babies!’’, ’’The Beauty of a Flower is in the Picking’’ and ’’Counsel’’, where she plays with the imposed social and moral attitudes of the conservative society in an ironic and witty manner.
