Series of author-guided tours through the exhibition ’’Perceptions: The Beauty of a Flower is in the Picking’’, under the title ’’From a Man’s Perspective with...’’ was started on March 22.

In the first edition of this series at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, we had the opportunity to talk with Miljenko Jergović, a respectable writer, columnist and journalist. Known for his sharp pen, Miljenko Jergović has been in a slightly different role this time and presented the audience with his own, male perspective on the exhibition ’’Perceptions: The Beauty of a Flower is in the Picking’’, which is dominated by female poetics.

Miljenko Jergović is among the most read and most translated writers of this part of the world. He has published more than thirty books: novels, short stories, poetry collections and essays. In his columns, he is a commentator of political, cultural and social events and issues in the region and beyond. In his essays, he deals with the social circumstances of the former Yugoslavia countries, where he often refers to underdeveloped or overwhelmed historical contexts, criticizing neo-nationalist and neo-fascist tendencies in current politics. He received various local and international literary awards, and in 2015 he received the Njegoš Award, one of the key literary awards in the region, because Miljenko Jergović, as the jury explained, "is present in these areas, essential for our culture and spirituality, for the key issues of cultural, national and linguistic identity, for the notion of gender, for the term "others" and "our alter ego", for South Slavic dramatic conflicts, fates and tragedies.
