Museum of Contemporary Art
of Republic of Srpska

A travelling exhibition organised by The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska visited four different places in Herzegovina. The exhibition presented works by artist Dušan Simić (1930 – 1961), continuing the long-standing tradition of MSURS to take and present cultural heritage in cities and towns throughout the Republic of Srpska.

In 2014, The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, as the major art and culture institution of the Republic, focused its efforts on taking this travelling exhibition to the farthest-lying parts of the entity, namely, to Trebinje, Nevesinje, Bileća and Gacko, as part of its pedagogical programme of activities, and with the goal of enhancing its cooperation with other institutions of culture.

By showing the Dušan Simić exhibition at museums and galleries across Herzegovina, The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska stressed the importance and value of cultural institutions in this area and recognised their need for better networking, a revival of the cultural scene and the establishment of a unique culture area across the Republic of Srpska.

Since 2006, MSURS has successfully engaged in educational activities targeting school students, with the aim of acquainting them with its work, and educating and animating them by presenting its rich collection.
