Marija Pilipović, the principal flute of the Banja Luka Philharmonic, had a flute recital at The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska.
This young talented musician completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka, the class of Prof. Laura Levai-Aksin. Thus far, she has held a series of recitals and performed with chamber ensembles in a number of cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The repertoire she selected for her recital at MSURS contained exclusively works by contemporary composers who use extended techniques as a means of their expression. These types of compositions show the expressive capacity of the flute in a completely new way. The performed compositions represented a kind of alphabet of extended musical techniques, showing the development path of the technical and interpretative potential of the flute to the present day.
