Chris Dercon, Director of Tate Modern, London was in Banja Luka on 24 August, when he visited The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska and saw Breda Beban’s exhibition "Let’s Call It Love".
His visit was initiated by Kalfayan Galleries Athens – Thessaloniki, who generously lent works by Breda Beban to The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska to hold an exhibition. Dercon wanted to see this by far most inclusive exhibition of the multimedia work of the famous Yugoslav and European artist.
MSURS specialists had the opportunity to present to their respectable fellow museum professional their home institution, its history and collection, as well as plans and strategy of development of contemporary art in the Republic of Srpska. They also discussed possibilities of cooperation and exploiting the latest trends in contemporary art exhibition applicable in the region. Also, on this occasion, Dercon was introduced to some important Banja Luka artists and their work.
