"Being an actor isn’t easy, do give it a try" was the second creative workshop held as part of the programme accompanying the exhibition "Belgrade by Jovan Bijelić".
The workshops were organised as an attempt to help children learn about Jovan Bijelić’s life and work in a way they would find interesting, and the second workshop focused on Bijelić’s theatre work. The workshop had a special guest, Nikolina Jelisavac, an actress working at the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska. The workshop participants and the Banja Luka actress searched for and found Jovan Bijelić’s portraits of theatre actresses. They learnt about how to become actors/actresses, how these prepare for their roles, what they have to pay attention to and what they need to know. After an introductory conversation about the acting profession, the children visited the National Theatre of the Republic of Srpska with Nikolina Jelisavac, and then went backstage to see the shops, dressing room and makeup room. They also visited the small and big stage at the National Theatre and learnt about how a play is put on. The creative part of the workshop was a chance for the participants to have a go as little actors and actresses.
The creative workshops "The Colourful World of Jovan Bijelić" were organised by the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska with the support of Hypo Alpe Adria Bank and in cooperation with the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad
