On September 21st, the European Heritage Day, but also the International Peace Day, an installation by the American artist of Bosnian origin Edina Seleskovic will be set up on the square in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republic of Srpska

. The name of the art installation is ''Think Freedom: Between Today and Tomorrow'' and it is realised with the support of the American Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the ''Think Freedom'' installation, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republic of Srpska will join the celebration of the European Heritage Day in the period between September 21st and September 25th, and this year's theme is ''Cultural Heritage and Communities''. This unique art installation is a true expression of contemporary art in the context of preserving the heritage, and it carries a powerful message of peace and togetherness by binding together artists, the public and young people through cultural creativity.

The project ''Think Freedom: Between Today and Tomorrow'' is concieved as an installation which consists of thousands of stylized silver birds that are made out of metal and arranged to form a flock. The installation has a powerful visual effect, but it is a lot more than just an esthetic experience- each metal bird has a message written out by hand on its wings, and the messages were written by young people from various cities the artist has visited. This installation connects young people and brings together communities by spreading out their messages and thoughts about freedom and visions of the future.

As part of this project, Edina Seleskovic will hold an interactive workshop for students of Banjaluka's Grammar School, where they will discuss about art and borders, freedom and togetherness, and the result of these discussions will be in form of messages that the participants will write on the wings of the birds which will after Banjaluka be shown in Split, Zagre, Copenhagen, Vienna, Paris, etc.

The goal of this project is to promote various ways of creative expression by directly including the public and bringing people together. The installation will ''carry'' new messages and young people's thoughts over and over again, and in this way it will bring them together through the universal power of art.

Students of the Banjaluka Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering helped in realisation of this project, along with their docent, Dr.sc. Marina Radulj. Partner of the project is the Rotary Club ''Gloria'', and the general sponsor of the exhibition is the American Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
