Exhibition "Contemporary Thesaurus" is an author project of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska. It is conceived as a new overview of contemporary visual arts scene in the Republic of Srpska and it is concentrated on current phenomena, media particularities, as well as theory development of the contemporary art scene over the past few years.

Ten artists whose works will be shown at the exhibition are: Igor Bošnjаk, Ninoslаv Kovаčević, Nikolа Kekerović, Mlаden Miljаnović, Rаdenko Milаk, Borjаnа Mrđа, Milа Pаnić, Selmа Selmаn, Sаšа Tаtić and the group Tаč.kа, all of whom are, due to their active and intense presence, recognised as leading individuals in the regional contemporary art scene.

The concept of the exhibition is in a special and innovative way connected to the lost drawings of Ismar Mujezinović which were an integral part of the monumental whole by Antun Augustinčić that is dedicated to the martyred soldiers of Krajina. The monument is located on the Banj Hill, a popular recreational site in the City of Banja Luka.

Curator Žana Vukičević is the author of the exhibition concept. The concept is based on the latin term thesaurus, which is, in museology terms, related to the process of collecting and forming of museum collections in order to achieve their reflective and cognitive foundadion. “Contemporary Thesaurus” is the result of recognising the values of contemporary art phenomena and the need of those values for lasting on the regional contemporary art scene, all of which is initiated by the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska.
